Chief Secretary Sindh, Asif Haider Shah, held a pivotal meeting with Karachi Mayor, MurtazaWahab, alongside the Secretary of Local Government and Municipal Commissioner. The discussions focused on critical issues, including the removal of encroachments in the city and the construction and repair of roads.
During the meeting, significant decisions were made regarding the city’s ongoing challenges, including the pension issues of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) employees and the enhancement of KMC’s bus services.
To tackle the problem of encroachments, it was decided to grant additional powers to Assistant Commissioners, enabling them to take effective action against illegal structures in the city.
Chief Secretary Shah emphasized the urgency of clearing encroachments around hospitals, stating, “Immediate action must be taken to eliminate these obstacles.”
Mayor MurtazaWahab announced that Chief Minister Sindh has approved a budget of 1.5 billion rupees for the repair and construction of roads affected by recent rains. He stressed the importance of not only repairing roads but also improving the drainage system to prevent future issues.
