Islamabad Capital Police took strict action against vehicles over wrong parking for smooth flow of traffic in the Federal Capital and issued 9514 fine tickets to road users over violation of wrong parking during the ongoing year.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad Capital Police reviewed arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city and 5,994 Vehicles were fined during this Campaign for involvement in wrong parking. The Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad directed all Zonal DSPs to ensure implementation on traffic laws having courteous attitude with citizens. He said that people should be treated politely and briefed them about traffic laws. He said that it is the right of pedestrians to use footpaths and no parking would be allowed there.
He said that vehicles should be parked at lots specified at shopping centers while an awareness campaign has been also launched to educate those citizens coming for shopping activities there.
