LAHORE – In a major development, a session court on Wednesday turned down the bail plea of Muhammad Jamil who is allegedly involved in firing case of his own wife Model Zainab Jamil.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Qamar Abbas passed the order after the suspect failed to comply with the directives of the court.
Defense B Police registered a case against Muhammad Jamil for hiring the shooters for firing on his wife Zainab Jamil.
The shocking attack on Zainab Jamil drew considerable attention and concerns from both the public and the media.
A sources from the investigation wing of the police said that the bail of Muhammad Jamil was rejected on the basis of substantial grounds as he was involved in serious nature of charges.
On June 27, the investigation into the attempted murder of salon owner and model Zainab Jamil witnessed an important development as the police arrested five suspects involved in the case.
SP Cantt Owais Shafiq, who detailed the suspects’ roles in the attack, confirmed the development.
One of the suspect namely Zia was involved in providing the motorcycle and weapons to the shooters to attack Zainab.
The police said that Zainab Jamil’s driver Adeel informed her husband Sardar Jamil about her movements.
On the day of the incident, Adeel reported Zainab’s visit to the salon to Sardar Jamil after which she came under attack.
“Zia not only supplied the motorcycle and arms but also transported the shooters to and from the crime scene. The shooters, who were from Karachi, flew into Lahore and later returned by road,” said Cantt Owais Shafiq.
Zainab had received six bullets and suffered jaw injury besides wounds on her arms. She underwent treatment at Mayo Hospital and was discharged from there after speedy recovery within a couple of days.
She had appealed the Punjab Chief Minister and the chief justice of the Lahore High Court to take notice of the horrific incident and bring the suspects to justice.
