Corona death toll witnesses increase in Sindh

As many as 13 people died in Pakistan on Sunday and 591 new coronavirus cases were reported over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed infections in the country to 293,130 and fatalities to 6,244.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 24,956 samples were tested for Covid-19 during this period, resulting in the emergence of 591 new cases.
So far, Sindh has reported 127,965 cases, Punjab 96,178, KP 35,720, Balochistan 12,507, Islamabad 15,493, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 2,245 and GB 2,657. As many as nine people died due to coronavirus in the Sindh province on Sunday, witnessing a surge after reporting one death in 24-hours a day before.
Giving a daily toll of coronavirus in the province during a routine briefing, the chief minister said that overall 319 fresh cases have been reported in the province during the past 24 hours, bringing the overall virus tally to 128,284.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government on Sunday imposed “micro smart lockdown” in small neighbourhoods of three cities for a period of fourteen days to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus.
The cities where localities have been sealed include Lahore, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala. More than a dozen areas have been locked down in these cities, including Lahore’s twelve areas that reported 28 cases of late.
