Commissioner reviews development projects in central district

Commissioner Syed HasanNaqvi conducted a thorough review of various projects undertaken by different departments and agencies. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner FaudGhaffarSoomro, Additional Commissioner AsimAbbasi, and other officials, the Commissioner assessed the status of ongoing projects. During the visit, officials from the Municipal and Transport departments briefed the Commissioner on their respective projects, including the reconstruction of Jehangir Road and the repair of Sharah-e-Pakistan.

The Commissioner was informed about the progress, challenges, and future plans for these initiatives. The review aims to ensure the effective implementation of development projects, addressing the needs of the citizens and enhancing the overall infrastructure of the district.

The Commissioner’s visit demonstrates the commitment to transparency and accountability in the development process. It was decided that foot paths along both sides of the Jehangir Road from Teen Hutti to Grumander will also be constructed. Triangles at Grumander, which are in bad shape, will also be repaired and improved. He directed the officials of KDA to include the construction of footpaths and the repair of all three triangles at Gurumander.  in the annual development program.

The Commissioner noticed the dilapidated condition of the triangles. It was informed to the Commissioner that the road from Sohrab Goth to Teen Hatti (6 kilometres) has been completed, and traffic signs have been installed. Additionally, traffic singes have   been installed to guide the traffic beside the gentry for the guidance of the road users.

It was also informed that one and half -kilometer two-way road from Teen Hatti to Grumender has been rebuilt, resolving the long-standing issues of the traffic there. The road was previously in a dilapidated state, causing traffic problems and prompting citizens to demand its reconstruction. Officials from the Local government department, SMTA, department of Transport and KDA, briefed the Commissioner on the project details. The Commissioner was informed that the installation of a 36-inch sewer line (800 meters on one side and 0.75 kilometers on the other) from Sohrab Goth to Grumender has been completed, and a storm water drain has been constructed from Teen Hatti to Grumender.

The Commissioner visited the 50-bed hospital at Ancholi in Gulberg and later visited AbbasiShaheed Hospital, where officials briefed him on the progress of construction at the treachery unit in Abbasi hospital. During the visit, the Sindh Mass Transit Authority briefed the Commissioner on the proposed plan for the construction of tuck shops, playgrounds for children, tennis court, and parking areas under the bridges of BRT of Green and Orange linesb at three locations including Nazimabad, Board office board off orangi town.

Meanwhile  Commissioner Karachi, Syed HasanNaqvi, directed all Deputy Commissioners to review the ongoing development projects in their respective districts, hold meetings with relevant departments, and provide guidance and assistance to complete the projects on time.
