Commissioner Rawalpindi reviews health facilities at RIUT

Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaqat Ali Chatha on Tuesday paid a surprise visit to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Transplantation (RIUT). On this occasion, MS RIUT Dr. Khalid Janjua, Chairman RWMC SaqibRafique and Group Leader Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce SohailAltaf were also present.

The Commissioner made a detailed visit to the hospital’s Laboratory, Computer Room, Emergency Pharmacy, Emergency Ward, Dialysis Wards, Air Handling Unit, Resuscitation Room, Ultra Sound, DMS Room, Operation Theater and OPD. Dr Khalid Janjua, while giving a briefing to Commissioner Rawalpindi, said that 75 to 80 patients are undergoing dialysis daily. Dialysis is done in 3 shifts.

LiaqatChatha inquired about the facility of dialysis from patients. The facility was described as satisfactory. Speaking on this occasion, he said that patients are provided world-class dialysis facilities at the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Transplantation.

He said that the 22 million population of the region was directly served by the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Transplantation. With the establishment of the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Transplantation, treatment facilities are available to patients at the regional level, he said adding as per instructions of the Punjab government, medical facilities were being ensured in the hospitals.

The Commissioner said, “The medical staff is worshiping by serving the suffering humanity. It is our responsibility to provide a favorable environment to the patients. It is our priority to provide health care to patients with bladder and kidney disease at RIUT. The waiting room is well arranged for the loved ones accompanying the patients.”
