City administration has decided to initiate crackdown against those who were not observing the SPOs notified by the Sindh Government to fight against the Coronavirus. In this connection Commissioner Karachi IftikharShallwani chaired a meeting at his office to review the situation of lack of enforcement in the city. Meeting was attended among others by all the deputy commissioners and Additional Commissioner -I Karachi Asad Ali Khan and Assistant Commissioner General Aijaz Rind. It was decided in the meeting that effective measures would be taken by all the deputy commissioners for the effective enforcement of the SOPs. Commissioner directed the deputy commissioners to activate the assistant commissioners and mukhtiarkars to ensure the implementation of the SOPs by the shopkeepers and buyers especially by the restaurants, marriage halls and super markets. Those restaurants, marriage halls and super markets whoviolate the SOPs should be shut down, commissioner ordered. The meeting took notice of the non-compliance of orders of the government which were passed for the health and safety of the people. The Deputy Commissioners mentioned those super markets, restaurants and marriage halls which were violating the SOPs.They said they had been warned and ordered to follow the SOPs but they were not following them. The Commissioner asked the officials to take legal action against those who were not following the sops as they are causing the spread of the Corona .He said Chief Minister of Sind Syed Murad Ali Shah wants strict enforcement of sops for the safety and health of the people and to stop the spread the corona , He said The Chief Minister has issued the directives to the city administration to be alert and take action against all those who are not cooperating Meanwhile Commissioner held a meeting with owners of the restaurants at his office and asked them to follow the SOPs notified by the government for the health and safety of the people. He warned them if the SOPs were violated the action would be taken against those who did not follow the SIOP. Chairman of the Association of the All Pakistan Restaurants Shaukat Ali assured the commissioner offull cooperation with the administration and SOPs would be followed letter and spirit
