CM Sindh meets UN team on disaster management

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah held a meeting with a seven-member delegation from the United Nations Department of Safety and Security, led by UnaisiVuniwaqa, at the CM House. The meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary AsifHaider Shah, Home Secretary IqbalMemon, IG Police GhulamNabiMemon, and Secretary to CM Rahim Sheikh. During the meeting, CM Shah discussed various natural disaster management strategies with the UN delegation.

He acknowledged the significant efforts of different UN agencies in addressing the flood situation in Sindh. “We highly appreciate the UN’s initiatives for the rehabilitation of flood victims,” said CM Shah. The discussion also covered providing facilities to various UN agencies in the context of natural disasters and the establishment of storage facilities at key locations across the province.

The UN delegation informed CM Shah about their monitoring of the ongoing heatwave impacts in Sindh and expressed readiness to support the provincial government with any required agency. CM Murad Ali Shah thanked the UN delegation for their support and assured them that the Sindh government would provide all necessary facilities to aid their efforts.
