Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has lifted the ban imposed on government companies and authorities in the province for new recruitments in his native district, Gujarat.
There is a restriction on state-owned companies and authorities for recruitment across the province of Punjab but CM Elahi has given a special relief to his district regarding this.
Punjab CM Elahi has exempted the new company and the PHA authority created for the Gujarat district from recruitment.
Hundreds of vacancies are vacant in other public companies in Punjab but resources are not available so there is no recruitment to fulfill the vacant seats.
The channel report said after the establishment of Gujarat Waste Management Company, new recruitments will be made there.
The board of directors of the company has also been entrusted with full powers for recruitment.
The Punjab Chief Minister had earlier approved the establishment of Waste Management Company and PHA Authority for Gujarat and a fund of Rs4 billion has also been approved for this purpose.
It is worth mentioning that there is a ban on new recruitments in government companies and authorities, but the approval of the Standing Cabinet Committee on Finance and the Chief Minister of Punjab is conditional.—NNI
