RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff and Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) Liu Jianchao discussed regional stability and CPEC Progress.
A statement shared by Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR said Mr. Liu Jianchao, the Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, called on General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, at General Headquarters.
The two sides discussed various topics of interest, including regional peace, stability, and the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
During the meeting, Pakistan Army Chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to its strategic partnership with Beijing. He also pledged full support for the successful implementation of CPEC, which is a key project under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Mr. Liu Jianchao mentioned that his visit to Pakistan is a follow-up to successful meetings between the leadership of both countries in China. He also emphasized the long-standing brotherly relations between China and Pakistan and expressed satisfaction with the progress of CPEC. He reiterated China’s commitment to completing the project in a timely manner.
In the meeting, Mr. Liu commended Pakistan for its efforts in maintaining regional peace and stability. He acknowledged the support of the Pakistan Armed Forces in providing security to Chinese nationals and development projects in Pakistan.
