CHINA Sunday warned the G7 leaders that the days when a “small” group of countries decided the fate of the world were long gone.
The comments, by a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in London, come as the leaders, who met in England, sought a unified position on China.
The spokesman was quoted by an international news agency as saying: “We always believe that countries, big or small, strong or weak, poor or rich, are equals, and that world affairs should be handled through consultation by all countries.”
All just-minded people of the world would agree to what has been highlighted by the spokesperson as tension and exploitation would remain there in the globe if the tendency of acting like cartels is not curbed.
There is a marked difference in the approach of China and other influential powers as Beijing believes in cooperation and development while some states are pursuing policies to physically or economically colonize or dominate other countries eyeing their natural resources.
No one would disagree with China that the only legitimate global “order” was based on UN-backed international law, and not the “so-called system and order advocated by a handful of countries.”
Beijing says it supports “genuine multilateralism” based on the principles of equal treatment and cooperation, and rejects the “pseudo-multilateralism” which only serves the interests of a “small clique.”
China has risen to the enviable position both economically and militarily merely on the basis of hard work by its people and visionary leadership without exploitation of other countries; rather it is trying to connect the entire world in a chain of progress, development and prosperity through President Xi’s historic Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
As against this, wars have been imposed on several countries of the world just to control their natural resources.
The discriminatory attitude of G-7 against China is evident from its latest proposal for a new investigation into origins of Covid-19 despite the fact that a comprehensive investigation by the World Health Organization (WHO) found nothing against China in this regard.
China is also being targeted unfairly on the issue of human rights and Hong Kong which is nothing but an attempt to tarnish its image.
