Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded that the censuses be conducted in Karachi to give their legitimate and legal rights to 30 million people of Karachi and to solve the serious problems of the city. He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Noor-e-Haq in connection with the announcement of the next phase of the “Haqooq Karachi Tehreek.” “Abolish, give thousands of educated youth of Karachi their right in government jobs, give them jobs in Sindh government and local bodies on priority basis, repeal the existing Local Body Act for empowered city government in Karachi.” He said that local bodies elections should be announced immediately, 15-year forensic audit of K Electric should be done and billions of rupees should be returned to the national institutions and the people. “At least 1000 buses should be run immediately. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Karachi Movement is the voice and spokesperson of the hearts of 30 million people. PPP, MQM and PTI have formed an alliance against the interests of Karachi, the ruling parties are only scoring points instead of solving public problems.” In the next phase of Haqooq Karachi movement, a sit-in will be held on January 15 at Nursery Stop Shahra-e-Faisal, on January 16 a protest march will be held with Five Star Chowrangi to Hyderi Market family, on January 17 at Allah Din Park and on January 23 at KarimabadChowrangi. A day of protest for the solution of people’s problems and rights will be observed on January 22 and there will be hundreds of demonstrations across the city while sit-ins will be allowed at 50 places on January 28.
