CCPO acknowledges failure in motorcycles theft control

CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has said that no instructions have been received from the government so far regarding the long march of the opposition, but if section 144 is imposed, no one will be allowed to hold a long march or gathering.

According to details, while addressing a press conference in Sadar Division, Lahore CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar said that incidents of motorcycle theft remain a challenge. He acknowledged his failure in the incidents of stolen motorcycles going out of the city.

He said that 42 motorcycles have been recovered from the gang which was arrested by the Sadar Division.

Also handed over the motorcycles to the original owners after the press conference. He said further steps were being taken to curb motorcycle theft. Asked about the long march, CCPO Lahore said that the law would not be allowed to take over.

Ghulam Mehmood Dogar said that security arrangements would be ensured along with teams of Lahore Police, Health Department and DC Office. Ensure government guidelines at all gathering places, including wedding halls.

The CCPO said that the district government should ensure the observance of Corona SOPs in smart lockdown areas while security measures were also taken to protect the police personnel deployed in the red down areas from the epidemic.

Asked about the long march, CCPO Lahore said that the law would not be allowed to take over.
