A national exhibition of calligraphy titled: “Lauh-o-Qalam” will be held at Al-Hamra Arts Council from September 17. A three-day workshop on “Calligraphy Competition and Aesthetics” is also being organised on the occasion.
According to the organizers, artists up to the age of 40 can submit their work to Al-Hamra by September 10 to participate in Quran Calligraphy. “Calligraphy is a great art and cultural heritage and we are bound to develop and promote it”, expressed Al-Hamra Executive Director Saman Rai. She said that conduct of calligraphic exhibitions, competitions and workshops aim at provising an opportunity to the young arts to hone their talent.
The Lahore Arts Council executive director said that Al-Hamra has invaluable services in the promotion and development of this great art and exhibition titled: “Lauh-o-Qalam” being held from September 17 to 24 is part of these efforts.
Prizes will be given to the first, second and third place winners in the competition. The three-day workshop “Calligraphic Aesthetics” is also an important part of the series, which aims to educate the youth about the art. It will run from September 18 to 21.
