Islamabad: Four days have passed since Shehbaz Sharif assumed the office of Prime Minister on Monday, and Shehbaz Sharif has not announced his Cabinet picks yet. However, media reports circulating in the capital suggest that the announcement might be made today as the premier has invited the opposition alliance – Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – leaders for iftar at the prime minister’s house.

According to reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will thank all the parties within PDM for working together to get him elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Reports also suggest that the consultation on the formation of the federal cabinet will also be finalized and announced today.

It is expected that the new cabinet will comprise twelve PMLN members, while seven slots will be given to the PPP.

JUI-F will get three ministries along with a state minister portfolio. MQM-Pakistan, Balochistan Awami Party, and Balochistan National Party-Mengal will get two ministries each. Independent candidates are also likely to get ministerial slots.
