British delegation briefed on latest situation in occupied Kashmir

All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar has urged the United Kingdom to play its important role in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute as it is indispensable for sustainable peace in South Asia.

Mehmood Ahmad Saghar while addressing the reception given in honor of the visiting British parliamentary delegation led by Raja Najabat Hussain in Islamabad said the key to peace in South Asia lies in solution of the Kashmir issue.

He said that for the last 76 years, the Kashmir issue remains unresolved and the Kashmiri people are continuing their peaceful struggle to achieve their right to self-determination. He said it is the responsibility of the international community, especially the United Kingdom, to play its role in materializing the Kashmiris’ self-determination right according to the UN resolutions.

On this occasion, the British delegation was briefed on the latest situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Vice Chairperson Labor Friends of Kashmir UK Naz Shah also addressed the reception.

The delegation included Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International Raja Najabat Hussain, British Member of Parliament and Chairman Labor Friends of Kashmir UK Andrew Gwynn, Member of Parliament Sam Terry, Member of Parliament and Vice-Chairperson Labor Friends of Kashmir UK Naz Shah and Muhammad Azam and Zeeshan Arif.

On the other hand, APHC delegations included Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Muhammad Hussain Khateeb, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Mir Tahir Masood, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Imtiaz Wani, Rafiq Ahmed Dar, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Sanaullah Dar, Javaid Iqbal Butt and Raja Khudam Hussain.—KMS
