Black fungus: 14 cases under treatment in IIOJK

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, at least 18 cases of Mucormycosis commonly known are back fungus have surfaced in the territory so far. Four of these patients have already died.

On June 4, Jammu-based newspaper Daily Excelsior reported, there are 14 confirmed and 8 suspected cases of Mucormycosis in the territory and 4 persons have succumbed to this infection while 18 are under treatment in different hospitals.

Of the 22 cases (14 confirmed and 8 suspected), it added, highest 11 cases have were in Jammu district, 5 from Kathua, 2 each from Srinagar and Udhampur districts and 1 each from Poonch and Reasi districts.

The four deaths have been reported from Kathua (2), Jammu (1) and Poonch (1) districts, it quoted sources saying.—KMS
