Bill to prestige national flag, Quaid portrait passed

A legislative body of Senate on Monday passed a Bill titled “Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2021” with unanimous vote. Senator Syed Sabir Shah, mover of bill, stated that the objective of the bill is to keep the prestige of National Flag and Portrait of Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and whoever deliberately defiles or puts on fire the portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah should be punished strictly.

The bill was passed during the meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior, which was held at Parliament House with Senator Mohsin Aziz in the chair. The meeting commenced with deliberation on the Bill titled “Islamabad Capital Territory Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Bill, 2022” moved by Senator Walid Iqbal and Senator Sadia Abbasi.
