Biggest jump in Punjab Corona cases as nationwide tally stands at 3,123

ISLAMABAD The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 3,123 on Sunday after 293 more cases were reported by the Punjab government in the province. On the other hand two patients succumbed to the deadly virus taking the tally to 45, says a report by Command and Operation Centre. 170 people have recovered but 13 are still in critical conditions According to the spokesperson of Punjab Primary and Secondary health care department, the provincial total now stands at 1,380 with 293 new cases. He added that positive cases have been reported in 27 districts of the province. According to a statement from the department, the patients have been divided into four categories: 309 pilgrims, 443 people associated with Raiwind Ijtima, 28 prisoners and 600 citizens. Lahore has the highest number of cases of 260. Almost 70 per cent of Covid-19 patients in Swat are male, according to a report from the Deputy Commissioner ’s Office. The report also states that 63pc of coronavirus patients are 31 years and older. Balochistan government’s spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani has confirmed 192 patients with three new cases of coronavirus in the province, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir have reported 206 and 14 cases respectively and Islamabad has 78 cases. Meanwhile, Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information Ajmal Wazir has said that KP has 372 confirmed Corona cases. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has confirmed 51 new cases of coronavirus in the province, taking the tally to 881. In a video message, the chief minister also said that one more person has died from Covid-19 in the province. He added that 68 more people have recovered in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 123.
