RAWALPINDI – Cricket Australia’s Chief Executive Nick Hockley on Wednesday expressed a strong desire to organize a high-profile tri-series involving India and Pakistan.
Hockley emphasized the immense enthusiasm surrounding matches between India and Pakistan.
“Pakistan and India are traditional rival teams. There is great excitement surrounding their matches,” said the Cricket Australia CEO.
He said Cricket Australia is keen to facilitate and support bilateral and triangular series involving these countries.
“We are ready to support both teams for bilateral and triangular series,” Hockley said, urging the cricket boards of both India and Pakistan to work together in harmony for such initiatives. He emphasized the need for consensus between both boards and governments, saying that “Both boards need to decide first, and we will assist in hosting,”.
Hockley also mentioned that formal discussions are pending due to the busy schedules of cricket boards, pointing out that further conversations are needed before any official plans could be made.
