ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday reacted to the press conference of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazl, asking him that solution of all problems was in the dialogue.
Ataullah Tarar said the general election would only be held in 2029 upon completion of the constitutional tenure of the incumbent government.
The reaction came after Maulana Fazl, in a fiery press conference, demanded re-election in the country. He also criticized the incumbent government over what he said “failed foreign policy”. The JUI-F Chief also mentioned internal threats to democracy, and asked the state institutions to stay limits.
Attaullah Tarar, in response, said the Parliament is an appropriate forum to do politics in the current circumstances. He said solution to all the problems in politics lies in negotiations and dialogue.
Attaullah Tarar termed Maulana a seasoned and respected politician and urged him to appreciate the government’s economic policies that, what he said, drove an increase in the foreign exchange reserves, and took the stock exchange to historic highest level.
He lauded the government for strengthening the rupee and reducing the trade deficit significantly.
