LAHORE- An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday granted post arrest bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Inaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed in a case related to anarchy and setting the vehicles and building ablaze.
ATC Judge Arshad Javed passed the orders, and directed Sanam Javed to deposit Rs200,000 as surety bond.
During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioner argued that mostly the cases against Sanam Javed were politically motivated. He said she was kept in jail despite bail after bail in different baseless cases. He said that Sanam had nothing to do with the chaos and setting the vehicles or building on fire.
After hearing arguments of the both sides, the court allowed post-arrest bail to Sanam Javed.
Previously, the court had extended the judicial remand of the PTI activist till December 15 in the same case.
It may be mentioned here that several women activists are behind the bars for their alleged involvement in different cases registered after May 9 incidents.
