In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed serious concern over India’s nefarious attempts to change the demographic composition of the territory.
The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that RSS-backed Modi government was imposing new laws one after another to bring about and accelerate the process of demographic change in IIOJK.
He said under new so-called domicile law, the Indian administration has issued domicile certificates to thousands of non-Kashmiris to allow them to get permanently settled in IIOJK in gross violation of the international law. He said that the Kashmiris would strongly resist India’s nefarious plans aimed at converting the Muslim majority into minority in the territory.
The spokesman pointed out that fascist Modi government is furthering the Hindutva and so-called Akhand Bharat agenda in the UN-recognized disputed territory. “The Indian government has grabbed powers of local administration and is imposing new brutal acts and law which are unacceptable to the people of Kashmir while the Jammu and Kashmir is ruled by Indian Army and police,” he added.
The APHC spokesman said the Indian government is keeping the people of IIOJK under continued military siege and one who raises voice against the Indian state terrorism is arrested and booked under black laws. He also condemned the arrest and killing of youth in cordon and search operations even during the coronavirus pandemic. He pointed out that Indian troops were killing innocent Kashmiri youth in fake encounters and secretly burying them in far-off areas to hide the identity of the slain youth. He demanded immediate release of all illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails of IIOJK and India.
The spokesman urged India to stop its military aggression and stubbornness on the Kashmir dispute and resolve it in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations and the UN resolutions.
He also appealed to the world community to force New Delhi to end its Hindutva policy and state terrorism in the occupied territory.—KMS
