Illegal submachine guns (SMGs) were used by protesters marching towards Islamabad, which led to the deaths and injuries of cops who confronted them near Sadhoke and Kasur.
According to a private TV channel, quoting Kasur District Police Officer (DPO) Imran Kishwar, straight gunshots were fired on police personnel near Sadhoke while in another encounter with protesters in Kasur, two cops were martyred while 88 others sustained bullet wounds.
“The police only tried to disperse the protesters peacefully,” he said, adding ASI Akber was hit by an SMG fire as he tried to push back the protesters.
“The post-mortem report has also proved that he was hit by an SMG fire,” the Kasur DPO asserted and added that the weapon was non-prohibited and no license is being issued for keeping it.
He further clarified that the police were only wearing anti-riot gear and did not carry any weapons to counter the protesters.
“The police never fired towards the protesters marching towards Islamabad,” Imran Kishwar said.
Meanwhile, the mutilated body of a cop was found allegedly tortured by TLP protesters. The tortured and mutilated body of Police Constable identified as Adnan Ehsan was recovered from Wazirabad fields near Veroki Rajbah area at Bharoki Road.
According to a private TV channel, one more police jawan laid his life in the line of duty. Adnan was deployed at Wazirabad to foil the advance of TLP marchers towards the capital.
The shocking and disturbing details were reported from Wazirabad where it was revealed that alleged killers mutilated his body and cut his fingers and ears and pull out his nails.
The police lodged FIR 736/21 in Wazirabad Saddr Police Station and shifted the body to THQ hospital for postmortem.
The assailants after killing constable Adnan changed his uniform with plainclothes to hide his identity.
Police said Adnan left his phone on charging at a shop located on Sialkot Road.
The police said that Adnan went to take medicine from the city as he was unwell but did not return and fell prey to the protesters.
Adnan belt number was C/848 and was a resident of Satellite Town, Gujranwala. Gujranwala CCPO Syed Hammad Abid said that Adnan gave his life while protecting the people’s lives. SSP (Investigations) Syed Ali has been tasked to present the report on the murder.
