Alkhidmat conducts city-wide spray campaign to tackle dengue

Alkhidmat Karachi has initiated a special fumigation campaign to tackle the spread of the dengue virus in the city. The campaign was initiated a few days ago by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman.

More than a dozen vehicles with volunteers have been utilized for this purposeand several areas of the city such as Korangi, Landhi, Surjani, Patel Padha, Baldia Town, Lyari, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Banaras, Orangi and othershave been subjected to the spray campaign already.

Besides, several masjids, imambargahs, private and government schools and colleges, Pakistan Post head office, Sindh Election Commission office and similar institutions have also received the spray.

The campaign is ongoing and scores of Alkhidmat volunteers are participating wholeheartedly in it.CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig has said that Alkhidmat had done a similar activity during the Covid crisis also, and the rapid spread of the dengue virus has demanded a quick and widespread effort on the same lines.

He informed that the campaign had been initiated on the express orders of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and had already reached many areas of the city with some remaining to be sprayed.

He added that the spray campaign was also being conducted in flood-hit areas that were vulnerable to malaria, dengue and such insect borne diseases. He appealed to citizens to keep their homes and surroundings clean while taking preventive measures against these diseases.

Lastly he reminded that Alkhidmat’s health care institutions and hospitals were providing dengue and similar tests at 50% discounted rates which were proving a great help to citizens.
