RAWALPINDI – The Rawalpindi Oil Tankers Owners Association has stopped the supply of petrol and diesel, sparking fears of shortage of petrol and diesel in the twin cities and other areas.
Reports said supply has also been suspended to regions including Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir, besides stopping supply to airports.
The association states that supply will remain halted until their demands are met. “We have sent notices to PSO authorities and DC Islamabad, but received no response,” they said.
They said the demands for filling the tankers under the meterized system be immediately fulfilled. District administration and authorities have violated the agreement of February 20, the association said while stating that supply will remain suspended until the demands are met.
The association stated that tankers are being filled with less petrol and diesel under the new measurement scale, causing losses to tanker owners and consumers.
