Only a couple of days ahead of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, Islamabad’s iconic F-9 Park which is also known as Fatima Jinnah Park got a new mosque, “Khalid Al Kaabi Masjid” a state-of-the-art model of architecture with the support of the embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
It took two years to complete the construction of the small but beautiful mosque with contemporary architecture and traditional interior.

Ambassador of the UAE Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi along with along with federal minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and Nasir Al Kaabi – the main financer of the mosque inaugurated the mosque.
The mosque’s construction began in June 2019 and the work lingered on until April 12 when it was formally inaugurated and opened for the faithful.
This is like a jewel in Islamabad’s 750-acre Fatima Jinnah Park, said a visitor Jamshed who made it a routine to come and exercise in the park daily in the morning.

The ambassador and guests offered prayers at the newly built mosque in Islamabad.
In his brief remarks on the occasion, the UAE Ambassador said such initiatives and activities “reflect the close brotherly relationship and people to people contacts between the two brotherly countries” bound in deep-rooted cultural, historical and common faith.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by the distribution of Ramazan food packages among the disadvantaged people of the area with support from Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment UAE, as part of annual Ramadan food distribution program all over Pakistan.
