National Textile University (NTU), Faisalabad and Asian Institute of Industrial Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to organize joint efforts to connect industry with education and training in a ceremony organized here by Rastgar Group, a leading engineering sector organization of Pakistan.
The event held in the textile capital of the country, Faisalabad, was attended by a number of executives from the industrial and the educational sector including Syed Ali Ahsan, Chairman of All-Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTMA) and Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmed Khan, Vice-Chancellor of University of Agriculture.
The MoU was signed by Dr Tanveer Hussain, NTU Vice-Chancellor and Dr Arshad Ali, CEO of AIIA.
Apart from the MoU signing, the purpose of the event was to deliberate upon the measures that can be taken to help the textile industry of the country with the right human and technological resources.
Imtiaz Ali Rastgar, Chairman of Rastgar Group, gave a much-needed reminder to the audience of the wastage in the industry and its associated costs. He said that there can be up to 24 per cent reduction in production cost by reducing waste.
Asian Institute of Industrial Air (AIIA) is the only institute in Pakistan offering an advanced level of certified training courses on Industrial Air Engineering, Automation and Production Engineering. AIIA works to encourage sustainable business developments by providing awareness and the necessary skills to connect education to the industry.
