ISLAMABAD – The federal government has appointed Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir, a grade 21 officer of the Pakistan Police Service, has been appointed as the director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), reports said on Saturday.
The Establishment Division has issued a notification in this regard, confirming his appointment in premier investigation agency of the country.
Jahangir has served in the FIA as the additional DG Cybercrime. Moreover, he is leading the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) tasked with probing the anti-judiciary campaign on social media.
His appointment as DG FIA has been widely appreciated with anticipation that the investigation agency will further strengthen due to his valuable expertise.
