Afghanistan, Tajikistan sign electricity contract

A contract for importing electricity from Tajikistan was signed between Da Afghanistan BreshnaShirkat (DABS) and Barqi Tojik company on Monday.

DABS announced on its Facebook page that Hafiz Mohammad Amin, DABS general manager signed the contract with Tajik officials for year 2022.

The source wrote that the agreement was signed as a result of two days of negotiations between the two sides, as well under an agreement that was post-poned from July this year to December due to po-litical developments in Afghanistan. During the trip, regional and development projects such as CASA-1000 and the construction of 500KV line in the energy sector were also discussed in de-tail between the two sides, which would bring posi-tive outcome in the near future.Afghan officials stressed the importance of joint cooperation with Tajikistan and assured that secu-rity and defense forces of the Islamic Emirate were ready to provide security for the start of suspended projects.
