ACP showcases creative brilliance at thesis display 2024

The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi School of Visual and Performing Arts launched its highly anticipated Thesis Display 2024, featuring innovative projects in Fine Arts, Textile Design, and Communication Design. Held at the Ahmed Pervez Art Gallery, the event highlights the talent of third- and fourth-year students, emphasizing creativity and cultural expression.

The showcase was inaugurated by Provincial Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Archives, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, alongside Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah. Prominent figures such as Shahid Rassam, Farrukh Shahab, and Muhammad Zeeshan also graced the occasion. Speaking at the event, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah highlighted the transformative power of art and culture, stating, “Culture is a universal language that bridges divides. Exhibitions like this empower our youth and elevate Pakistan’s image globally.”

He shared plans for fostering cultural exchanges, including screening Indian films in Pakistani cinemas and organizing a World Culture Festival to unite international artists. Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah praised the students’ dedication, announcing the establishment of the Arts Council’s Fine Art University, set to begin offering degrees next year. He affirmed, “This university’s degree will carry unparalleled value in the country.” Shah emphasized the Council’s commitment to supporting young talent, investing heavily in their development. Principal Shahid Rassam credited the faculty’s dedication, stating,

“We’ve nurtured students who couldn’t even afford basic materials. Today, their achievements make us proud.” Projects by Asim Naqvi, Taha Abbas, and Zahra Ali. Projects by Huzaifa Khan and Abdullah Ali Khan. Contributions by Sani e Zehra and Aliza Abdul Wahab. The three-day event, running from January 15 to January 17, 2025, has attracted art enthusiasts and industry professionals, showcasing the Arts Council’s role in shaping the future of artistic excellence in Pakistan.
