ACP, APWA exhibition honors Women’s Day with poster showcase

The Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) and the All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA) collaborated a poster exhibition was held at the Ahmed Parvez Art Gallery in Karachi. The event, graced by the presence of President Muhammad Ahmed Shah of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, showcased posters highlighting the significance of Women’s Day. President Muhammad Ahmed Shah addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of Women’s Day celebrations and the need to recognize women’s rights and choices. He highlighted the role of women in various spheres of society and stressed the importance of empowering women economically.

Shah noted that the economic participation of women is crucial for the overall functioning of households and the economy. He praised APWA for its pioneering efforts in promoting education and arts among women, particularly through initiatives like building schools for children’s education and handicraft institutions. Shah commended the students for their bold portrayal of various societal issues such as suppression and harassment through their posters. Highlighting the achievements of women in diverse fields, Shah expressed confidence in the potential of Pakistani women to excel in all areas, including aviation and the military.

He acknowledged the increasing motivation among girls to pursue education and succeed, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. Shah announced a prize of Rs. 50,000 for the winning students of the exhibition, recognizing their talent and contribution to raising awareness about important social issues. He expressed gratitude to APWA for their collaboration in empowering women and supporting initiatives that promote their advancement.
