People should stand against criminals in khaki
Custodial deaths in police stations never seems to end in our country. The lack of action against the criminals in khaki is to be blamed for the recurrence of such incidents. The force that is supposed to uphold the laws are routinely found misusing their powers and disrespecting the laws of the country. We often hear of custodial deaths in police stations but no probe is conducted against them.
Custodial violence is the latest example of how police brutality results in the loss of lives. The police responsible for the deaths of Tamil Nadu residents P. Jeyaraj and J. Bennix on June 23 at the Sathankulam police station in Tuticorin need to be brought to justice as soon as possible. I hope the case reaches a speedy conclusion because the police have political powers and are also shielded by the government.
The police in India torture suspects in custody as they rarely get punished. On October 13, 2019, Pradeep Tomar, a security guard, rushed with his 10-year-old son to the Pilkhua police station in Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh. He had been summoned for interrogation in connection with a murder case. The son later said that his father was brutally tortured by policemen in front of him for hours. When Tomar’s condition deteriorated he was rushed to hospital, where he died. These incidents have brought into sharp focus the way Indian policemen torture and interrogate suspects in their custody leading to death in several cases.

Renew irrigation system
The issue faced by farmers owing to cropping is lack of water. It is the season of cropping now but no proper streams are constructed to take water from main streams to the farms. The farms remain mostly barren owing to the depression and high rise. Resultantly, water could not reach farms which are in depression. As Pakistan’s irrigation system is first in ranking in whole South Asia. The alignment of the network system of rivers, canals and streams is best. Therefore the government direly needs to reconstruct streams from rising point to depression point so that water could reach every farm. We all know the agricultural sector plays a major role in stabilizing the economy of Pakistan.

Arranged in the core of Istanbul, Hagia Sophia, signifying ‘Divine Wisdom’, was at first worked as an Eastern Orthodox house of prayer. It was later changed into a mosque when the city was once vanquished by Sultan Mehmed II in 1453 CE. It stayed a mosque till 1931 when it was transformed into a gallery. It’s a gift from Allah Almighty that Hagia Sophia resonated to a muezzin’s name to morning supplication from inside the 6th century Istanbul milestone without precedent for a long time on Saturday.
The azan call was once broadcast in a Saturday programming including Mehmet Görmez, the top of the Religious Affairs Directorate. A success for all of us. Here I would like to supply opinion and I request PM Imran Khan that kindly pay interest to our mosques whose walls are in a very awful condition that they cannot even endure a little weight of a man or woman who simply stand for a 2nd near a wall just to dry his sweat by using fear that wall will fall down.

Pakistan first
The day I have attained physical and mental maturity, I have been seeing everyone serving his/her interest by keeping aside the interest of the country; may it be a politician, government employee, industrialist, businessman, doctor, engineer, lawyer, student, etc. In other words, individual interest has surpassed the collective interest.
And, this is the biggest reason that our beautiful country – Pakistan – has remained under crisis after crisis, for the last four or five decades. It has generally been seen that those nations have been successful which have acted collectively for the resolution of their various impending issues. In other words, the nations which have kept their individual interests aside have actually been able to achieve the general welfare and prosperity for their citizens.
Right from the creation of Pakistan, if we all had followed the slogan “ Pakistan First”, things would have been far better today in terms of the country’s politics, economy, religion, culture, morality, etc. Since we all served self-interest, we, therefore, have never become a collective nation and therefore, have been facing daunting challenges in the society.

Syllabi for English lectureship
Sindh Public Service Commission has announced lectureship jobs. The syllabus for lectureship test in English subject in which the literature and linguistics have been placed together which is unfair and injustice because these are two special and quite different areas and the students have to opt one of these disciplines to do M.A English. Moreover, all the universities of Sindh province run classes for literature and linguistics separately with separate syllabi therefore it will be unfair with the candidates if the syllabus is not reviewed and revised as per the ground realities.
Keeping in view the aforementioned situation, the concerned authorities are requested to review and revise the syllabus uploaded by the Commission and please, the tests as per rules and different syllabi, may be conducted separately from the candidates with MA English literature and MA English Linguistics.
