Sindh Minister for Information, Local Government, Housing &Town Planning, Religious Affairs, Forest and Wildlife Syed Nasir Hussain Shah claimed that the work done by the Sindh government for the development of the Health sector un the province had not been done in any other province of the country. The provincial Information Minister said that he was proud to say that even in the neighboring countries, patients would not have access to free healthcare facilities which were available to the patients in Sindh province.
He said that patients suffering from various heart diseases, or needed liver transplants as well as patients suffering from cancer were being treated free of cost in Sindh province through modern technology like cyberknife. The provincial Minister said that liver transplantation in Gambat, a small city of Sindh province, was being done free of cost for a long time. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital was indeed a good medical institution, but the difference between it and Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation was that, in Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital the patient still had to deposit some money while at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, the patient did not have to pay a single penny for his treatment. The provincial Information Minister said that the number of dialysis sessions in SIUT was unmatched by any other unit in the world. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that patients from not only Sindh province, but from all over the country come to these health institutions in Sindh to avail the facility of free treatment.
