Amid the rising number of coronavirus cases in the province, the Sindh government on Friday decided not to establish ‘Ramadan Bachat’ bazaars this year.According to details,
Sindh Agriculture Minister Ismail Rahu said that the decision has been taken for the safety of the people.He said online service would be available in Ramadan for the purchase of vegetables and other essential food items.
The Sindh minister said that strict action will be taken against profiteers and hoarders. He also directed authorities to further strict safety measures at all vegetable markets of the Sindh province. All the DCs have been directed to form a monitoring cell at the district level to analyze the situation, he said. In wake of coronavirus pandemic, Sindh government decided last month to shut all restaurants and shopping malls in the province. The government also decided to close Sea View Beach, public parks and government offices and the decision was implemented from March 18. In addition, inter-city bus service will also remain suspended for the indefinite period.
The Sindh government also directed dhaba owners to close businesses as number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan has shot up. The government also announced to close all bachat bazars in the province till further notice.
