According to the details, a farewell ceremony was held in honor of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan at Central Police Officer Islamabad, a public relations officer said.
He said that, on this occasion Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan met all the police officers and officials at the Central Police Office (CPO) Islamabd.
In his message, he said that two years ago, when I assumed the command of this force, I had decided two things very clearly that there will be no discrimination between senior police officers and officials, and the law should be followed. Today I am leaving this place with great pride, knowing that all my officers and officials have done outstanding work for the citizens of Islamabad and for the foreign visitors in Islamabad.
I am also thankful to all our senior police officers who have worked side by side with their lower subordinates in the discharge of their duties without distinction of rank. I am personally grateful to my current and former officers.
Our aim in the federal capital was to establish the rule of law and protect it from the ambitions of miscreants. To achieve this aim, the officers and officials of all divisions in Islamabad worked hard.
My message to the Islamabad Capital Police on my way out is that the Islamabad Police has set the standard for the entire police force of Pakistan in which we can take our name proudly by following the law without violence.
The development of Pakistan also depends on the implementation of the law.
I am grateful to my entire team and also to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Federal Ministers, the Ministry of Interior, District Administration, and other law enforcement agencies that together we have ensured the peace of the federal capital.
I hope that my team will continue their efforts to achieve this lofty goal with the incoming Chief of Police. Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan paid homage to the police martyrs and veterans and said that we are here today thanks to these martyrs and veterans.
