RAWALPINDI – At least five militants were gunned down during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Army’s media affairs wing said Friday.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said security forces conducted an operation in the general area of Mullazai, Tank District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and eliminated terrorists.
It said intense fire exchange occurred between soldiers and militants during the intelligence operation.
ISPR said during the gun battle, five terrorists were sent to hell, and mentioned that the hideouts of terrorists were also busted during the operation.
The media wing further said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from dead terrorists, and it was revealed that they remained active in terror activities, including recent target killings of forces personnel in Tank.
The militants were actively involved in terror activities against security forces and civilians.
Forces also conducted sanitisation of the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists. ISPR said local residents appreciated operation and voiced full support to security forces in elimination of menace of terrorism.
