In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the indiscriminate firing by Indian occupation forces on the civilians at Sopore in Baramulla, killing three innocent people.

According to Kashmir Media Serviced, the APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar while paying rich tributes to the martyrs of Sopore expressed his deep condolences with the grief stricken families.

He said that the Indian occupation forces have let loose a reign of terror in the nook and corner of the territory. Genocide with impunity, under the cover of draconian laws has become a routine matter in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he added.

“Arbitrary detentions, molestation of women and vandalizing residential houses are used as a permanent war strategy to suppress the legitimate and peaceful moment for right to self-determination of the freedom-loving people of Kashmir,” he said.

Lauding the valour and high morales of the people of Kashmir, in general, and the people of Sopore in particular, the spokesman reiterated his strong commitment and pledge to take the ongoing resistance moment to its logical conclusion. “This is the only way to pay real tributes to our martyrs,” maintained the statement.

The APHC spokesman urged the United Nations Secretary General and the United Nations Council for human rights to take cognizance of the widespread killings, arbitrary detentions, molestation of women and vandalism, perpetrated by the troops in Jammu and Kashmir.

The spokesman called upon the UN to come forward and help resolve the long pending Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions and pressurize India to stop genocide and gross violation of human rights in Kashmir.—KMS
