President Dr Arif Alvi has expressed his profound grief over death of Zareena Begum, mother-in-law of Pakistan Observer’s Editor-in-Chief, Faisal Zahid Malik.
Zareena Begum, 72, passed away on Thursday due to cardiac arrest in the federal capital. She is survived by two sons and three daughters all settled in the US. Her husband Malik Nawaz Awan (late) was a well-known figure of Chakwal and among the founding members of PTI. Her Namaz-e-Janaza will be led in village Jamarah, Chakwal on Saturday (tomorrow).
In his condolence message, the President prayed for eternal peace and bliss of the departed soul and offered condolences to Pakistan Observer’s Editor-in-Chief, his wife, family and the team of Pakistan Observer.
May Allah shower His blessings on the departed soul, rest her soul in eternal peace and grant patience and strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss, says President Arif Alvi’s message.
Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information & Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Federal Minister for Science & Technology, Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, Human Rights Minister Dr Shireen Mazari, Minister for Maritime Affairs, Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, IT Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Ambassadors of Bahrain, Morocco, Denmark and Japan, Counsel Generals of Germany, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Thailand have also expressed their heartfelt sympathies in their separate messages with Mr Faisal Malik and his family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul .
Meanwhile, Hameed Haroon, President, and Sarmad Ali, Secretary General of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) have expressed profound grief on behalf of the APNS office-bearers and members of the Executive Committee over the sad demise of Zareena Begum mother-in-law of Mr Faisal Zahid Malik, Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer.
The APNS has offered condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty Allah rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give the family courage and patience to bear the loss. Council for Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE) has also expressed condolences with Pakistan Observer’s Editor-in-Chief over the death of his mother-in-law.
