In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the death toll of Indian forces’ personnel who came under attack during a two-day cordon and search operation in Baramulla district, has reached five.
The attack was launched on Monday morning when a joint team of Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force and Indian police was involved in the search operation in Kreeri area of the district. Four troops were killed and several others injured. One of the injured troops succumbed on Tuesay, raising the toll to 5.
Three youth were martyred during the operation.
Director General of Police Dilbag Singh claimed that the martyred youth were mujahideen who were killed during a gunfight with the troops. He said that a mujahid commander, Sajad Haider, is believed to be among the martyrs. The troops destroyed one house in the operation.
