Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has inaugurated on Saturday seven mega projects worth Rs. 800 million including Seht Insaf Card, Police Complaint Cell, computerized driving licensing lab and Pukar, 15 control room for Sahiwal division. Sehat Insaf Card Scheme would be for Pakpattan, Okara and Sahiwal.
The chief minister further maintained that three mega projects for Sahiwal are being completed at a cost of Rs7.19 billion. District headquarter hospital will be awarded status of teaching hospital which will cost Rs6 billion. Dual carriageway from Arifwala to Bahawalnagar will be constructed with the amount of Rs.67 crore whereas Arifwala bypass, bypass from N-5 Royal Hotel to Sarwar Chowk will be constructed with an amount of Rs.43 crore.
The chief minister, on arriving circuit house Sahiwal, inaugurated model cattle market of Chichawatni, reconstruction of Quaid-e-Azam cricket stadium and installation of floodlights, government boys degree college in Kameer, Municipal Committee office, provision of basic facilities in RHC and project of 60-bed tehsil headquarter hospital in Renalakhurd. The chief minister also planted a sapling under tree plantation campaign in circuit house and prayed for success of this campaign as well.
Later, the chief minister, while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Sehat Insaf Card for the three districts, said that people were deprived of quality health facilities in the past. Sehat Insaf Card would provide an opportunity to the white collar people to get free of cost treatment facility from the private hospitals in a dignified manner. Treatment, medicines and test facilities would be made available to the Sehat Insaf Card holders free of cost as the bill will be paid by the Punjab government. Travel expenditures would also be provided to the patients having Sehat Insaf Card as well. Sehat Insaf Card will provide treatment facilities and free follow up for 8 diseases to its holder free of cost. Sehat Insaf Card will also provide special treatment facilities to the mother and child. He said that 67 lakh families of 24 districts are getting benefits from Sehat Insaf Card. He said that Sehat Insaf Cards have been given to 25 percent population of Sahiwal, 29 percent of okara and 27 percent population of Pakpattan. The chief minister said that 7 development projects have been inaugurated at a cost of Rs. 800 million for Sahiwal division. Funds for ongoing development projects in Sahiwal would be provided on a priority basis.
