69 drugs available for coronavirus treatment

Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University Prof. Dr. Kamran Azim has said that a recent study conducted in USA revealed that 69 FDA approved medicines can be used for “Drug Targeting” and “Drug-Repurposing” for the treatment of COVID-19 infection.
Prof. Dr. Kamran Azim has also dispelled the recent statement of Pakistani scientist saying that genome of corona virus isolated from Chinese and Pakistani patients do not match with each other. He said that research conducted by scientists in Mohammad Ali Jinnah University revealed that coronavirus genome from Pakistani patient is more than 99% identical with Chinese coronavirus genome. He also declared the statement of a former Pakistan diplomat is baseless in which it was claimed that Corona virus
was made artificially. Prof. Azim said that according to a study conducted by a well-known immunology and microbiology researcher, Kristian Andersen from USA revealed that SARS-CoV-2 virus, the causative agent of COVID-19 pandemic evolved from naturally occurring strains.
