6,07160 children to be vaccinated in polio campaign

Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Zeeshan Javed has said that in order to eradicate polio, it is imperative that all children below the age of five years be vaccinated against polio. Sialkot District has set a target of vaccinating 6,07190 children during the three-day national anti-polio drive. 1213 mobile teams have been formed to go door-to-door, 133 fixed teams in primary and rural health centers, dispensaries and hospitals while 69 transit teams will carry out national duty of vaccinating children against polio at bus stops, entrances and exits of the city.
Earlier, DC Zeeshan Javed administered polio drops to children at Government AllamaIqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital with his own hands. Health CEO Dr. Aslam Chaudhry and DHO Dr. Afzal Bhili gave a briefing on the ongoing campaign.
