With the aim to further suppress the Kashmiris, the Narendra Modi-led Hindutva government of India has decided to set up 26 Border Police Posts in Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which already is the most heavily militarized zone in the world.

The 26 Border Police Posts are coming up in Machil, Gurez, Keran, Tangdhar, Handwara, Uri and other areas of Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora districts.

The construction cost approved for each police post is Rs 84 lakh and land for each post has been earmarked.

In this regard, a media report, citing an unnamed senior official of the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, said these posts will work in close synergy with the Indian Army and other forces’ personnel already present in these areas.—KMS
