BOTH Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir are maintaining engagement with different segments of society, particularly the youth. Their recent participation in the Pakistan National Youth Convention is a testament to the high priority they place on nurturing and empowering the younger generation. This engagement is not an isolated event; it is part of a broader, ongoing effort by the top civilian and military leadership to inspire and uplift the youth.

In their addresses, both leaders underscored a shared vision for the youth—one that emphasizes education, skills development and a forward-thinking approach to problem-solving. The Prime Minister’s keynote speech highlighted the government’s multifaceted initiatives aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, critical thinking and creativity. Meanwhile, the Army Chief’s remarks stressed the necessity of holistic youth development, including enhanced educational and vocational training facilities to equip young people with skills relevant to the 21st century. The importance of maintaining close contact with the youth cannot be overstated. They represent the future of our nation and their engagement in national discourse and development initiatives is crucial for shaping a prosperous and dynamic society. The recurring focus on youth engagement by both the Prime Minister and the Army Chief illustrates a profound recognition of the role that young people play in driving the nation forward. By providing young people with the tools and knowledge they need to excel, we open doors to opportunities both at home and abroad. However, while increasing the quantity of educational and vocational training opportunities is essential, ensuring the quality of these programs is equally important. Our educational institutions must provide a rigorous and relevant curriculum that prepares students to compete on a global stage. Quality education will enable our youth—who are second to none in their talent and potential—to match and surpass their international peers.
