Black magic!

As per the Constitution of Pakistan, there can be no law which is repugnant to Islam. It is the Holy Quran which strictly prohibits Muslims from the practice of Black Magic in more stricter terms than in the indulgence by believers from consumption of any addictive substance. Black magic was practiced by Pharaohs and idol worshippers but is not allowed by any of three monotheistic religions. Yet, despite this clarity on absolute refrain from practice of black magic, it is being practiced openly in almost all major towns and cities of our country, at their outlets which are advertised. The practice of black magic is destroying families and life of ordinary citizens of Pakistan.

Are we living in the Stone Age where such practices are allowed? It was shocking and repulsive that a pregnant woman of KP had a nail inserted on her skull, presumably on the recommendations of a fake Pir or Aalim that this would ensure birth of a male child. The poor lady was brought to a hospital located in KP, in this condition, yet law enforcement or the government has not taken those responsible to task. If this insertion of a nail on the skull was on advice of a so-called Aalim, why is he/she not being prosecuted for the practice of such inhumane act, which Islam does not allow, under any circumstances. These fake Pirs have brought disrepute to many pious people whose spiritual guidance is sought by many citizens of this country. Immoral activities indulged by these “Fake Pirs” must be dealt with an iron hand.

The Hijabi girl

Wearing a Hijab is a pride for a Muslim girl. It shows the beauty of Islam. A very shameful incident has happened in Karnataka, India. Muskan Khan is a Muslim girl in India. She wears Hijab. She went to college on 8 Feb 2022 and a very disgraceful event happened there. Muskan was surrounded by men wearing saffron scarves. She was not allowed to enter her college due to wearing of Hijab. She was surrounded by 40 to 50 boys. The brave girl was not scared. She shouted loudly “Allah-O-Akbar” and showed his bravery. It is an example for all other Muslim girls. Hijab is not a piece of cloth, it’s our dignity. This event shows that there is inequality of rights in India.

Muslim girls should keep fighting for their rights for wearing Hijab. A girl can win Nobel Prize by wearing a Hijab. A girl can play football and tennis by wearing Hijab why she cannot get education by wearing Hijab. This issue is an international issue. We should raise our voice for this brave girl. The United Nations has to take serious steps on this issue. The OIC has to pay attention to this issue. Pakistani girls should also learn a lesson from this brave girl. She is a real pride of Islam.

Crumbling educational systems

It is disheartening that Zimbabwe was once a shining example for educational excellence but now in deep educational troubles. The standard for education in Zimbabwe was once excellent but now it is in chaos as teachers are being paid peanuts and the zeal to educate the population is no longer in existence. Zimbabwe faces multiple problems that have engulfed the educational system including lack of infrastructural funding, poor working conditions for teachers and corruption.

Students and pupils in rural areas are still learning under structures that are not fit for purposes and they walk long distances to school. The careless, clueless and corrupt ZANU PF President and his beleaguered government have failed to address the worsening situation in educational systems.

Some teachers particularly for sciences have fled to South Africa and other neighbouring countries in search of better remunerations and working conditions. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has failed to revive Zimbabwean ailing education system and should therefore be expelled from the leadership of the once high literacy country in Africa.

Honour killing

Sindh has been facing multiple issues which create hurdles in progress. Honour killing is also one of them. Sindh is known as land of Sufis and peace, but unfortunately, this land is now cemetery for people of Sindh. According to a recent report of “Sindh Suhai Organization”, 128 women and 48 men were killed in the name of honour killing in Sindh in 2021. These people are killed in different brutal ways.

According to the data, most of honour killing cases were recorded in four districts: Kasmore, Jaccobabad, Shikarpur and Ghotki during 2021. As a result, overall 176 people are killed and snatched their living rights in honour killing in 2021. In North Sindh, honour killing is increasing instead of decreasing. Therefore, the authorities are requested to kindly take some serious and tangible steps in order to control honour killing in Sindh enabling the people to live in peace and harmony.
