Eradicate street crimes

I am writing to express my deep concern about rising incidents of street crimes in our city. It has become increasingly alarming and poses a threat to safety and well being of our community. Every day, we hear stories of innocent individuals falling victim to thefts, robberies and even violent crimes on our streets. This not only instils fear in the hearts of residents but also hampers progress and development of our city.

It is crucial that we take immediate action to address this issue. I believe that a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies, local authorities, and the community is essential. Increased police presence, improved lighting in public spaces, and the implementation of surveillance systems can help deter criminals and create a safer environment for everyone.

Furthermore, community engagement and awareness programmes are vital in educating residents about self-defence techniques, reporting suspicious activities, and fostering a sense of unity against street crimes. By working together, we can make a significant impact in reducing these incidents and restoring a sense of security in our neighbourhoods.

I urge authorities to prioritise the issue of street crimes and allocate adequate resources to combat this menace. It is high time that we reclaim our streets and ensure that every individual can walk, work and live without constant fear of becoming a victim.

Education system

The current state of education system is a matter of great concern. It is disheartening to witness dire situation in which education system of Balochistan province finds itself. A recent report has shed light on the fact that a staggering 0.8m children in the province of Balochistan are currently out of school. Furthermore, a significant number of schools lacked basic infrastructure such as roofs and walls. Additionally, shortage of teachers has resulted in closure of 3500 schools. Moreover, statistics regarding primary schools are equally alarming. Out of 12 thousand primary schools, only half have only one teacher. Furthermore, 11 thousand schools lack access to electricity, while an astonishing 10 thousand schools are deprived of potable water. These figures are deeply shameful for relevant authorities responsile for education sector. It is crucial to note that Balochistan already suffers from a high illiteracy rate and current situation threatens to further exacerbate this issue. It is imperative that respective authorities and Government of Balochistan take immediate and concrete measures to address these pressing issues. The education sector demands greater attention and investment to ensure that future generations of Balochistan are not deprived of their fundamental right to education.

Balochistan is suffering from many problems yet paramount is prevailing education system in Balochistan. There exist no proper facilities for a robust education system in Balochistan. Schools and colleges lack basic facilities such as books, library, computers, drinking water and good teachers etc. Because of poor education system Balochistan is weak and we are going backward day by day. As government is not providing facilities to schools and colleges many schools lack roofs while many are in shabby condition and without drinking water and toilets. I request central and provincial governments to improve conditions in schools and colleges in order to save the education system in Balochistan.

Female students facing harassment

Being a student of University of Karachi, I wish to draw attention to alarming rise in harassment cases targeting female students at the university. The recent incident involving arrest of an individual for his alleged involvement in harassing girl students is just one manifestation of a larger issue that demands immediate action. The reported incident, where suspect committed obscene acts while chasing a van carrying female students near UBL Sports Complex has sent shockwaves through the community.

The subsequent arrest, facilitated by technological advancements, sheds light on severity of the matter. It is disheartening to note that incidents like these not only compromise safety and well being of female students but also contribute to a pervasive atmosphere of fear and anxiety on campus. The viral video of the incident on social media has rightly sparked public outrage, emphasising urgent need for a comprehensive response.

While applauding police efforts for apprehending the suspect it is crucial for university administration to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to ensure a thorough investigation. Additionally, proactive measures, such as increased campus security and awareness campaigns must be implemented to create a safer environment for all students. The reported sections under which the case is registered highlight gravity of the offences committed. However, it is imperative that these legal proceedings are expedited to send a strong message that such actions will not be tolerated. The safety and well being of students, particularly female students, should be a top priority.
