Abdul Khaliq Qureshi Abbottabad
The traders fraternity of Link Road, Abbottabad city, have collectively lodged a formal complaint with the Hazara Commissioner, Zaheer ul Islam, against Sub Registrar Khalid Javed Ghazi of Abbottabad Tehsil, Abbottabad. The complaint alleges his involvement with land grabbers and fraudulent verification of various registered deeds, contravening the law.
The Hazara Commissioner, upon receiving the complaint, forwarded it to the KPK Director of Land Revenue for necessary action. Consequently, Khalid Javed Ghazi was summoned to the directorate’s head office immediately, and Muhammad Asif was appointed as the new Sub Registrar of Abbottabad Tehsil.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Adil Qayum, a member of the commerce industries, revealed that Iqbal Market in Supply Bazar, Abbottabad, was unlawfully transferred to land grabbers through falsified deeds, resulting in the original owner’s loss. Despite previous dismissals and suspensions due to his involvement in similar fraudulent activities, Khalid Javed Ghazi was reinstated without proper justification.
Numerous cases challenging the authenticity of registration deeds verified by Ghazi are pending adjudication in various civil courts, with owners seeking to overturn the fraudulent transactions. Additionally, Ghazi has filed a Writ Petition in the Peshawar High Court Circuit Bench, Abbottabad, seeking reinstatement, with the hearing scheduled for April 2024.
The traders and affected owners have urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to intervene, ensuring adherence to the law and principles of natural justice.
