New investigations in the Toba Tek Singh murder case have revealed signs of violence on the victim’s body in a medico-legal examination. The police complaint has also revealed that the main suspect escaped in front of the police.
A young woman Maria was killed by her brother as her father and other family members looked on. A video showing Maria being smothered by her brother was recorded and uploaded to social media. Police registered a case after the video went viral and obtained an exhumation order from a local court.
An initial medical examination of the body found that the bones in the victim’s throat were broken. A detailed autopsy report is still pending.—INP
