In the heart of the human experience lies a complex labyrinth, woven with threads of curiosity, rebellion, pain, and escape. This labyrinth is drug use, a phenomenon that has been an integral part of our history, culture, and individual stories for centuries.
It’s a topic that evokes a kaleidoscope of emotions, from fascination to fear, from empathy to condemnation. A significant curse disguised in different versions of matter has envisioned world. This curse deprives man of the senses, sending him back to the dark and dead places of trans and uncertainty.
Drugs, modern known as the fashionable leisure, or sometimes a preferred escape from the worldly sorrows has now turned out to be an endemic that is affecting almost all the sections of life. For some, drugs offer a means to escape the harsh realities of life, to momentarily break free from the chains of anxiety, depression, or trauma.
Others use drugs as a social lubricant, a passport to a world of heightened sensations and camaraderie. The genesis of desire, therefore, varies greatly from person to person.
In the ecstasy of drug-induced euphoria, users may discover temporary bliss, a fleeting escape from the mundane. The kaleidoscope of colours, the music that becomes an ocean of emotion, the feeling of unity with fellow travellers, all these experiences can be intoxicating in their beauty and allure. However, the labyrinth also houses ominous chambers, where addiction and suffering await those who linger too long.
What begins as a desire for escape can transform into a relentless chase, a never-ending pursuit of the next high, leading to a precipitous fall into dependency. These passages are shadowed by broken dreams, shattered relationships, and the slow erosion of the self.
In Pakistan, drugs use has become a major issue, having the underlying complexity next to epidemic. It is of sheer heartbreak that almost all the age members are equally indulged. Drugs have now made their way into educational institutions, where students illegally supply and use drugs. Similarly, many people have adopted drug supply as a full-time profession, occupying complete territories to utilize them for drug transportation.
Since drug use exacts a toll on the body, mind, and soul. It strains relationships, shatters trust, and dismantles the architecture of one’s life.
To cope with this issue, federal and provincial government has chalked out multiple ways to tame this curse.
Among all the defined and commendable efforts, the stance of Islamabad Police is indeed appreciable.
Stepping ahead from the responsibility of protection of lives and property, the Islamabad police is now all set to induce social reforms by initiating raids against the drug suppliers.
Recently, the Islamabad Police has also started an awareness campaign, where they visit different educational institutions to educate students about curbing and staying safe from drug abuse. This instance is one of the many examples that depict how different law enforcement institutions in Pakistan are contributing to make this land a better and safer place.
